Promajna got its name just to the sun, which with the most beautiful exits joyfully awakes above the mountain of Biokovo and freely spreads its rays towards the sea. Promajna is located 4 km south of Baška Voda. Originated from a small fishing village along the coast to the east of Baska Polja, inhabited by the inhabitants of Basta and Podgora in the 18th century, it has grown from the middle of last century to a tourist resort with modernly equipped houses, villas and apartments. Promajna today has 230 inhabitants.
